MEMBERS' Exhibition PARTICIPATION GUIDELINES

Fee: $15

Entry day: Tuesday, October 15, 11am-3pm
Reception: Sunday, October 20, 4-5:30pm
Pick-up:  Tuesday, November 19, 10am-2pm

MEMBERS' PARTICIPATION GUIDELINES

Fee: $15

Prizes will be awarded in all categories with 10 or more participants. First prizes $100 and second prizes $50, in each category. Special category is Portrait. Faculty members not considered for awards but are encouraged to exhibit. No fee for faculty only.

Painters: You are welcome to bring in 1 piece, or 2 if the second is in the special category of PORTRAIT. Since we have limited space and want to accommodate everyone, we will limit your entries to a combined total of 80 United Inches. United inches are simply calculated by adding length plus width (outside edge of frame.)

Example: Outside dimension of frame measures 30 x 20. The united inches are 50. Therefore, your second piece can be no more than 30 United Inches (length plus width.)

Jewelers, Potters & Other 3D: May bring in 3 to 5 pieces each.

  • All works must be framed, wired, and suitable for hanging.

  • Work which has been exhibited at the Center is not eligible

  • Work done with an instructor is not eligible.

  • Membership must be current.

  • Artists will receive 70% commission on art sales.

Something new! This coming year, we are combining our faculty and student shows and offering a new opportunity in January; we invite you to participate in our Winter Show! How do you interpret winter? This doesn’t have to be a literal translation i.e., a winter scene, but it could be. Open to all media. This is a member show; all submissions will be included. 

Painters: You are welcome to bring in two pieces. Since we have limited space and want to accommodate everyone, we will limit your entries to a combined total of 80 United Inches. United inches are simply calculated by adding length plus width (outside edge of frame.)

Example: Outside dimension of frame measures 20 x 20, the united inches are 40. Therefore, your second piece can be no more than 40 United Inches (length plus width.)

Jewelers, Potters & Other 3D: May bring in 5* pieces each.

  • Work which has been exhibited at the Center is not eligible

  • All works must be framed, wired, and suitable for hanging.

A portion of our earnings will be donated to the Penland School of Craft in North Carolina. Help rebuild the Penland School that has been devastated by Hurricane Helene.

  1. All Members are eligible to participate. Membership must be current.

  2. $10 fee for all that are entered. CAC may limit amount of items as needed! Donated items can be submitted free of charge.

  3. Eligible items include:

    • Paintings (do not need frame, only pieces suitable for hanging will be displayed on walls)

    • Pottery

    • Jewelry

    • Frames

    • Art books

    • Art Supplies

  4. An inventory list must be included. Please use inventory sheet (downloadable pdf) provided through the link below or through the weekly email. Each piece should be marked on the front with a number, price, and your name.

  5. Please drop off and pick up on designated days.

  6. Members will receive a 70% of the price. The Creative Arts Center will retain 30%.

This show has 2 categories;
-Square (works bigger than 12” square) and
-Small (not exceeding 12” in any direction)

$20 fee for 1 or 2 – Two maximum–
Prizes will be Awarded: One Best in Show -$300,
Two First Prizes-$200 each, Two Second Prizes-$100 each, in two Categories (Square & Small)—, and Two Juror’s Choice Awards, $200 first, $100 second.

Image Area of Square Piece May Not Exceed 66 United Inches. (ex. 26x40=66 united inches). Image Area of Small piece May Not Exceed 12” in any direction.

A 40% commission will be retained by the CAC.

From the enormously talented pool of Artists on Cape Cod, this Exhibition showcases works across the spectrum. All mediums, all subjects and $1,700 in prizes will be awarded. Show will be judged for inclusion and awards.
Best in Show Jack Garver Memorial Award $500
Oil/Acrylic First Place $200.  Second Place $100
Watercolor First Place $200.  Second Place $100
Pastel First Place $200.  Second Place $100
Other 2-D & 3-D First Place $200.  Second Place $100


Entry day: Tuesday, May 28, 10am-2pm.        Fee: $20 for 1 or 2 entries (flat rate)
Reception: Sunday, June 2, 4-5:30pm
Pick-up: Tuesday, July 2, 10am-2pm

RULES:

·         Artist must reside in Barnstable County.
·         Both Members and Non-Members may participate.
·         Paintings must be suitably framed and ready to hang.
·         Artists can submit 1 or 2 pieces, 2 max.
·       Image Area of Each May Not Exceed 66 United Inches. (ex. 26x40=66 united inches)
·         3D work should be constructed of any substantial material not exceeding 40” in any direction.
·         Works that cannot be accommodated will not be accepted.
·         All works must be original and for sale. Current work only please
·         Work done under the guidance of an instructor is ineligible. 
·         There must be at least 15 participants in a category for prizes to be awarded.
·         A 40% commission will be retained by the CAC.
·         Accepted work will be listed online by Fri May 31 at 10am. Check our website homepage.
·         Declined work must be picked up by Monday June 3rd.
·         Delivery: Work must be delivered to CAC on the specified entry day.

Jack Garver,  internationally-renowned watercolorist, was a long time friend, member and Instructor at the Creative Arts Center in Chatham. Jack enjoyed a long career painting and teaching, was a member of the American Watercolor Society, Salmagundi Club New York, New England Watercolor Society, Pennsylvania Watercolor Society, Taos National Society of Watercolorists, the Watercolor USA Honor Society, The Artists’ Fellowship and lived in West Chatham for 43 years. His family has created the The Jack Garver Memorial Award to recognizes outstanding artistic achievement in the Annual All Cape Cod Art Exhibition at the Creative Arts Center.

The talented members of 'The Printmakers of Cape Cod' will be showcasing a selection of handmade prints May 5-23 at the Creative Arts Center. Works will include monoprints, etchings, woodcuts, collages and more. This exhibition is not to be missed! A 40% commission with be retained by CAC on all sales.

This exhibition is an opportunity for students of all abilities who took a class a CAC to show their work.

Things you should know:

  • If you took a Class or Workshop with us in 2023 or 2024 you are eligible to submit your work that you produced in class.

  • Work must have been done in class or done as a result of the class

  • You may submit one piece for each class/instructor in which you were enrolled.

  • A 30% commission will be retained by the CAC.

  • NO ENTRY FEE! NO JUDGMENT!

This is your chance to have a framed photo Exhibited in a Gallery!

Rules

  • All photos must be original work.

  • Everyone is eligible to participate.

  • Up to 2 framed photographs may be entered; $20 fee for 1 or 2.

  • High School students feel free to submit 1 photo free of charge.

  • Images may not be smaller than 8x10, (11x14 prefered) or larger than 50 United inches. United inches (UI) is simply calculated by adding length plus width, example image area 24x24=48 UI and image area 20x30=50 UI (image area.)

  • All entries must be wired and suitable for hanging. 

  • The Creative Arts Center reserves the right to reject any inappropriate work.

  • Work must be for sale.  A 40% commission will be applied to all sales

  • Show is juried for inclusion and awards

  • Photos submitted must be artists own. Photo editing apps and programs such as Photoshop and Lightroom may be used to enhance original photographs. Digital scans, stock, image downloads or word generated AI images may NOT be used.

Jack Garver,  internationally-renowned watercolorist, was a long time friend, member and Instructor at the Creative Arts Center in Chatham. Jack enjoyed a long career painting and teaching, was a member of the American Watercolor Society, Salmagundi Club New York, New England Watercolor Society, Pennsylvania Watercolor Society, Taos National Society of Watercolorists, the Watercolor USA Honor Society, The Artists’ Fellowship and lived in West Chatham for 43 years. His family has created the The Jack Garver Memorial Award to recognizes outstanding artistic achievement in the Annual All Cape Cod Art Exhibition at the Creative Arts Center.

Mission statement:

The Visual Artists Cooperative (VAC) is a group of local artists residing on Cape Cod. We work in all visual media and exhibit together throughout the Cape. We strive to support each other's artistic needs and find venues for exhibitions. VAC has a long pedigree on the Cape; we have been meeting and exhibiting for over 40 years. Formerly, we met only in person, but in this digital and post-pandemic time ZOOM allows more flexibility over a wider geographic area. This exhibition is an opportunity for students of all abilities who took a class a CAC to show their work.

Things you should know:

  • If you took a Class or Workshop with us in 2022 or 2023 you are eligible to submit your work that you produced in class.

  • Work must have been done in class or done as a result of the class

  • You may submit one piece for each class/instructor in which you were enrolled.

  • A 30% commission will be retained by the CAC.

  • NO ENTRY FEE! NO JUDGMENT!

The Members’ Exhibition is a sampling of works from our talented members showcasing a fantastic range of styles and mediums.

Entry day: Monday, February 27, 10am-2pm
Reception: Sunday, March 5, 4-5:30pm
Pick-up: Friday, March 31, 10am-2pm

 

MEMBERS' PARTICIPATION GUIDELINES

Fee: $10 for one/$15 for two or three*

Prizes will be awarded in all categories with 10 or more participants. First prizes $100 and second prizes $50, in each category. Faculty members not considered for awards but are encouraged to exhibit. No fee for faculty only.

Painters: You are welcome to bring in two pieces. Since we have limited space and want to accommodate everyone, we will limit your entries to a combined total of 80 United Inches. United inches are simply calculated by adding length plus width (outside edge of frame.)

Example: Outside dimension of frame measures 22.5 x 26.5. The united inches are 49. Therefore, your second piece can be no more than 31 United Inches (length plus width.)

Jewelers, Potters & Other 3D: May bring in 3* pieces each.
All works must be framed, wired, and suitable for hanging. Work which has been exhibited at the Center is not eligible; work done with an instructor is not eligible.

MEMBERSHIP MUST BE CURRENT.

We have added a new category for this Exhibition: Portraits

Portraits will be a category all of it’s own.  Any medium, 2-D or 3-D will be eligible for $100 first Prize and $50 Second prize. Those submitting a Portrait may also enter a piece in the regular categories*.

Prizes will be awarded in all categories (Special Theme : Portrait, Oil, Acrylic, Watercolor, Pastel, Photography Pottery, Jewelry, Sculpture) with 10 or more participants. First prizes $100 and second prizes $50, in each category.

2-D: You are welcome to bring in one* piece (or two* if one is for the special theme category Portrait.) Since we have limited space and want to accommodate everyone frames should not exceed 42" on the longest side (including frame.)

  1. All Members are eligible to participate. Membership must be current.

  2. $10 fee for all that are entered. CAC may limit amount of items as needed! Donated items can be submitted free of charge.

  3. Eligible items include:

    • Paintings (do not need frame, only pieces suitable for hanging will be displayed on walls)

    • Pottery

    • Jewelry

    • Frames

    • Art books

    • Art Supplies

  4. An inventory list must be included. Please use inventory sheet (downloadable pdf) provided through the link below or through the weekly email. Each piece should be marked on the front with a number, price, and your name.

  5. Please drop off and pick up on designated days.

  6. Members will receive a 70% of the price. The Creative Arts Center will retain 30%.

PRICES SHOULD REFLECT THE SPIRIT OF A SACRIFICE SALE AND SHOULD BE DISCOUNTED FROM REGULAR PRICING.
