Outreach
Rocking Unicorn School
Amy Middleton and Julie Dykens bring the Center to little friends at the Rocking Unicorn Nursery School. Pre-schoolers learned about the process of working with clay. Julie brought samples of her work to share with them. They then created heart-shaped pinch pots that returned to the Center for firing. Amy went back and did glazing with them. The hearts were a big hit and ready just in time for Valentine’s Day!
Eldredge Public Library
This summer the Eldredge Public Library’s summer reading program is themed “Color Our World”. The library staff approached Amy Middleton to collaborate with them on their summer programming. The library will promote our Fun Friday’s at the Center as part of the activities. In addition, we look forward to offering an art program to their summer reading participants at the library.
Monomoy Community Services
We continue to offer our friends at Monomoy monthly art lessons. This winter, we worked on heart pinch pots. Our next endeavor will be making sculptures out of recyclables, which will be on display at the Eldredge Public Library for Earth Day.
Chatham Center for Active Living (formerly Council on Aging)
We are excited to begin offering monthly classes to the participants of the Center for Active Living. Amy Middleton will be offering the first one-hour session in March. If you have a special skill or talent that you would like to offer, please let us know. We would love to have different artists on rotation. All media encouraged! We applied for funding through the Chatham Women’s Club Grant to help support this initiative
We are proud to participate in Mass Cultural Council's Card to Culture program, in collaboration with the Department of Transitional Assistance, the Women, Infants & Children (WIC) Nutrition Program, and the Massachusetts Health Connector, by broadening accessibility to cultural programming.
